Former gymnast Greg Glassman founded CrossFit®, Inc. in 2000. In the most general of terms, CrossFit© is “constantly varied, functional movement, performed at high intensity.” “Wod” is simply the CrossFit® acronym for “Workout of the Day,” which usually involves multiple elements of weightlifting, gymnastics, sprinting, rowing and core conditioning. We encourage you to learn more about the CrossFit® philosophy and methodology at crossfit.com. Although many CrossFit® athletes use WOD DAILY, our website has no official association with nor endorsement from CrossFit, Inc.
We know how hard it can be sometimes to get to the box (CrossFit Gym). Lets face it, life gets in the way but that doesn’t mean you have to skip a WOD. We created WOD DAILY with this in mind. We want to make sure you stay on track with your fitness goals. Whether you are at home or traveling on business, we created a resource for you to make sure there are no excuses and have a WOD at your fingertips. A large majority of our WODs can be completed with little to no equipment. But don’t let that fool you, we guarantee you will get a killer workout outside of the box and feel great knowing you tackled another challenging WOD!
The most equipment you will ever need for our WODs are the following:
1) Jump rope
2) Dumbbells – the RX weight which is the term used for the recommended weight that should be used is 20lbs for women or 30lbs for men. This can obviously be adjusted to your skill level. If you are new to our website feel free to go lighter and work your way up over time. For the more advanced athletes, you are more than welcome to scale up to a heavier weight where you see fit.
3) Stopwatch – since we follow the CrossFit methodology all of our WODs are done for time
